Trauma-Informed 200hr Yoga Teacher Training - Complete!

More Than a Certificate

This week I became a certified Trauma-Informed Somatic Yoga Teacher.

Of course, I'm incredibly proud to have completed my 200-hour teacher training. But if I'm honest, the certificate itself isn't what feels most significant.

It's not just a piece of paper.

It symbolises something much deeper.

It represents months of learning, questioning, practising and, perhaps most importantly, living the work.

I began this journey in the winter of last year, enrolling with the School Yoga Institute. At the time, I imagined I'd move steadily through the training and complete the self-paced course by February 2026.

Life, however, had other plans.

There came a point where I realised I needed to pause.

Parenting, my coaching work was growing and I had a driving test to prepare for (which I'm happy to say I passed! πŸš—).

For a while, my yoga studies sat quietly in the background.

Old me might have seen that as falling behind.

But this version of me knows something different.

That pause wasn't a failure.

It was yoga.

Because yoga isn't only what happens on the mat.

It's learning to notice when you're running on empty.

It's trusting yourself enough to slow down.

It's responding to what your body, your family and your life are asking of you in this season.

For me, this training has never been about perfecting poses or collecting another qualification. It's been about deepening my understanding of the nervous system, trauma-informed practice, embodiment and the profound wisdom our bodies hold.

It's also been about doing my own inner work.

I don't believe we can truly guide others into practices of presence without first being willing to meet ourselves there. This training has invited me to do exactly that, to sit with discomfort, embrace curiosity and continually return to my own body with kindness.

Completing this course feels aligned with everything Align Don't Hustle stands for, because I trusted that the work would still be there when the time was right.

And it was.

I'm so excited to begin weaving trauma-informed somatic yoga into my coaching practice, creating even more opportunities for people to reconnect with themselves through movement, breath and compassionate self-awareness.

I'm also quietly working on another project that brings these worlds together in a way that feels exciting...

...but I'll save that for another day.

For now, I'm simply taking a moment to celebrate, not just the certificate, but everything it represents.

A reminder that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is honour the season we're in.

And that is what it means to Align Don't Hustle.
